Volusia Beach Info shows the live status of every beach access ramp in Volusia County, along with the tide, water temperature, weather, and live beach cameras. It's free, there's no account, and there's nothing to configure. If something looks wrong, email me — one person built this and I read everything.

What the statuses mean

Open — the county's feed reports the ramp open to vehicle traffic.
Limited — open with a restriction, most often a high-tide narrowing where driving is allowed but the drivable beach is thin.
Closed — not open to vehicles. Walk-on access is often still fine; the status is about driving.

Beach driving in Volusia County is only permitted from sunrise to sunset, so every ramp reads closed overnight. That's correct behavior, not a bug.

Common questions

A status looks wrong. The app shows exactly what the county's feed says, checked once a minute. When the app and the sign at the ramp disagree, the sign wins — conditions change faster than any feed. Tell me anyway; a persistent mismatch usually means a ramp changed identity in the county's system, which I can fix.

A beach camera is black or stuck. The cameras are public coastal webcams and they go down on their own schedule. Try another camera; if one stays dark for more than a day or so, let me know and I'll chase it.

What is the closure outlook? The app learns how each ramp has historically behaved around high tide and gives an approximate, hedged heads-up that always says why — "high-tide closure possible around 1:30pm," or "beach driving closes for the day around 6:30pm." It's a pattern, not a promise from the county. Treat it as a nudge to go earlier, never as authority.

Where does the data come from? Ramp status from Volusia County's public GIS feed; tides and water temperature from NOAA; weather from the National Weather Service; the cameras are public webcams along the coast.
